Privacy Policy

Your rights as a user of our website

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. With this declaration we would like to inform you about the procedures with which we protect the privacy of your data on the Internet. As a company under private law, we are subject to the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Teleservices Act (TDG), and the Teleservices Data Protection Act (TDDSG). We ensure that data protection regulations are observed by ourselves and by our external service providers (e.g. web designers and server administrators).

Here we provide an outline of the information gathered by this website, how it is used, and how you can “opt-out”. By using our website, you are providing consent for us to process your data.

Your rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time by requesting:

  • Information about your data stored with us and processing of the data,
  • Correction of incorrect personal data,
  • Deletion of your data stored with us,
  • Restrictions on the processing of your data if we are not yet permitted to delete your data due to legal obligations.

After providing your consent for us to process your data, you can revoke it at any time with immediate effect. If you have any questions or objections regarding our policy on data privacy, please contact privacy@trilogywriting.com.

Purposes of data processing by Trilogy and third parties

We process your personal data only for the purposes stated in this data protection declaration. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties for purposes other than those mentioned. We will only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

  • You have given your express consent,
  • Processing is necessary to process a contract with you,
  • The processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation,
  • The processing is necessary to protect legitimate interests and there is no reason to believe that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in not disclosing your data.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system, and your connection to the internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable the correct display of our web pages.

Cookies on our site may be used for:

  • Personalising your experience (saving preferences),
  • Storing pseudo-anonymised login identifiers (i.e. data that cannot personally identify a user, but can be used to facilitate an account login.).

Cookies may be sent between your browser and our website to enable automatic logins upon further visits, as well as for content customization.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

You can also view our website without the use of cookies. Internet browsers are generally set to accept cookies by default. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the browser settings. Please use the help function of your browser to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Contact form

If you make an inquiry via the contact form, a valid email address is required for this purpose. This email address is used to assign the request and enable us to reply. The provision of any further data by yourself is optional. The information you provide will be stored only for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any other legitimate follow-up email correspondence arising therefrom.

Use of Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (following: Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are small text files placed on your computer to help us analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide us with further services associated with website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

The data are processed to evaluate the use of our website and to compile reports on website activities. Other related reports will then be provided based on the use of the website and the internet. The processing is based on our legitimate business interest as the operator of our website.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your internet browser. However, you may then not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing an appropriate browser plug-in for this purpose.

Embedded YouTube videos

Some of our videos are hosted by YouTube. These YouTube videos are embedded within an iframe, with code directly supplied by YouTube, and not with a plugin. The embedded code includes the ‘Enhanced Privacy’ option. This mode allows us to embed YouTube videos without using cookies to track viewing behaviour, meaning that viewing activity is not collected to personalise the viewing experience. Instead, video recommendations are contextual and related to the video being played. Videos playing in an embedded player in a privacy-enhanced mode will not influence the viewer’s browsing experience on YouTube.

More information about enhanced privacy and embedded videos is available at:

We reserve the right to adapt this data privacy declaration to comply with current legal requirements, or to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data privacy declaration will then apply for your next visit to our website.
